Base manager Nicole Hillert welcomes you to Potsdam, known as the Versailles of Germany and is the ancient residence of the Kings of Prussia. The fabulous Chateaux or Frederick II sits in this town in the midst of the superb and elaborate ‘Sans Souci’ gardens.
PRE-ORDER YOUR GROCERIES
Take advantage of our online grocery ordering service which allows you to order a selection of basic provisions for your first few nights on board. This is especially useful if you are not driving to your base, or know you will be arriving after the supermarkets have closed. Simply download a provisioning list here, send it to the base and they will do your shopping for you! The cost of your groceries is payable in local currency when you arrive.
PRE-ARRANGE YOUR TAXI TRANSFER
Le Boat will be happy to arrange transfers from your arrival point to the base. Please download a taxi transfer form here and send it to the base at least 14 days prior to departure. The base receptionist will contact you directly to confirm details of your transfer.
BASE OPENING HOURS
The base is open on each arrival or departure days between 08:00 - 18:00
Arrival time: Handover of the boat happens between 16.00 and 18.00. If you have a valid Licence, then you should arrive no later than 13.00. If you do not have a licence, then you should arrive no later than 14.00, to attend the training course.
If you are going to be arriving at the base late, you will need to inform the base directly or the general sales office where you booked. When you arrive at the base there will be a note on the reception door informing you where your boat is. The boat will be left open with the lights on for you to stay on board that night. The base staff will do the full briefing the following morning.
Information on Berlin: Berlin’s inner city is designated as a “particle free emissions zone”. Please be advised that when driving into this area of the city, a specially approved label needs to be visibly displayed on your car. These can be purchased online at DEKRA (in German)
