This historic town centre with its beautiful avenues and lively city life is being completely reconstructed. Points of interest in the town include the Mueritzeum with its zoo gardens and the Mueritz Aquarium. The city of Waren is also a Mecca for sailors.
Mirow
The city of Mirow lies between the charming forests and the lake district on the Mecklenburg lakeland plain. The romantic Chateau Island and the historic gatehouse, (built in 1588), of the residential chateau and the fine old Johannite Church are all an invitation to spend some time here and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. A visit to the Dendrological (arboretum) Gardens at "Erbsland" is a must. It was planted in 1887 with foreign trees and is one of the oldest gardens of its type in Germany.
