Follow the Canal latéral à la Garonne through vineyards and pastures to Buzet, famous for its amber-coloured aperitif. The bastide town of Vianne is famous for its beautiful glassworks and has many good restaurants and lively markets while the 16th century fortified water mill at Barbaste – its four towers dedicated to King Henri IV’s four daughters – is a must-see. Visit the stunning remains of Henri IV’s chateau at Nérac and spend time browsing its colourful shops and art gallery. Take your sketchbook ashore at Valancesur- Baïse, a picturesque fortified town overlooking the Baïse region and enjoy a measure of Armagnac in its home town of Condom.
