Cercy-la-Tour gives stunning views over the village and valley below while Châtillon-en-Bazois is home to one of the region’s most splendid châteaux. The lake at Baye provides excellent watersports facilities.

Sitauted at the junction of the Canal du Nivernais and the Canal Latéral à la Loire, and the confluenbce of the Loire and the Aron, Decize is a pretty little town, well worth a stop to explore. The are 3 good supermarkets conveniently placed close to mooring spots so this is the ideal place to get any heavy shopping on board.
A agreeable overnight stop at a pretty Nivernais village. The old settlement, situated on a rocky outcrop is at 201 mètres altitude, offers good views over the valleys of the Aron, the Alène, Canne and of the Nivernais Canal. There are a couple of nice restuarants not too far distant and you can collect bread from the boulangerie (closed Mondays) opposite the moorings.
A leafy and tranquil spot for a relaxing overnight stop. Not a lot here but relax with a drink at the village bar, remembering to put in your bread order for the morning !

Chatillon-en Bazois is the biggest town between Decize and Tannay, and here you will find a good range of shopping and facilities. A bonus is that Port de Plaisance is bordered by the very attractive gardens of the chateau, making it a very agreeable place to stop a while.
A lovely quiet and relaxing place to spend the night, out in the coutryside, close to the etang, and home to many birds and river borne wildlife.
