Caledonian Canal

Boating on the Caledonian Canal is a unique way to see Scotland's wilderness

The Highlands provide a backdrop of incredible beauty for your boating holidays in Scotland. During your Caledonian canal cruise, much of your time will be spent on lakes (lochs) nestled in the rugged valleys along the Great Glen, a geologic fault line that shaped the landscape of the region. Hilltop castles, quiet waterside towns, lake resorts, cosy pubs and rich, melodic bagpipes...The Highlands are an ideal destination to hire a boat in Scotland!
Great for...
  • Spectacular mountain scenery from your hire boat
  • Hiking & hill walking
  • Whisky distillery tours
  • Fishing, wildlife & bird-watching
  • Loch Ness Monster spotting

They gave us all the information we needed and replied promptly to our emailed queries
Very helpful instructions in the use of the boat. Friendly staff.

The website and prices were vague and operator was clutching at straws to compensate for major price variations. At the boat yard the service at check in was swift and efficient. The boat training and induction was pitched at the correct level as this was our third Scottish le boat holiday, with basics recovered and the different boat specifics gone over. The one to one service in the boat yard was above expectation and was a great start to our holiday. The boat was ready, clean. It would have been better if the beds had been made but we had everything we required.
Great boat with excellent lounge area with great views. Bow thruster and rest of mechanics worked perfectly.

Always very friendly and efficient staff : a pleasure to deal with
Starting/finishing at Laggan means you can choose whether or not you travel Loch Ness although a week is plenty of time to cover the whole canal if you wish.
