Reviews for the The Abbeys and Cloisters Short Break
We've rented from Le Boat twice now, and each time they were great. Excellent booking support, very friendly and helpful people at the base, and the boats were provided in very good shape. And should you happen to peek into the engine compartments, you'll see that they're immaculate--a sign of good maintenance practice. The only thing I would want of them would be to provide some very basic supplies, such as dish soap and sponges, so that we don't have to purchase such essentials that each individual renter will use relatively little of.
This is not the loveliest cruising route--it parallels roads and rail, and is not the nicest landscape backdrop. But the town of Moissac is very worth visiting, and Valance is nice but nothing special. The canal is very uncrowded--no commercial barges and very few leisure boats--so this is nice. Next time we'll do the Canal du Midi, it's more crowded but seems like nicer terrain.
It was exactly as expected. They were helpful and nice. The boats are a bit abused, so don't expect 5 star quality, but they are decent.
Nice short run, perfect for the first time we did it.
Overall pretty good, but was disappointed that the boat was not ready on time and we were hanging around for a long time.
