Wonderful experience
Wonderful experience cruising from Migennes to Tanney. Booking the reservation was easy, good communication before boarding the boat. Once on the boat Emerald Star was very responsive to a couple small issues we had on the boat. Beautiful scenery – very enjoyable experience.

We absolutely loved our time on the Shannon it was a great experience, the boat was amazing so clean and brilliant facilities it had everything we needed. The staff were absolutely lovely, so helpful and patient showing us how to drive the boat, put us at ease etc such a great time would highly recommend going with Emerald star.
LeBoat on River Lot exceeded all our expectations
The boat itself exceeded our expectations – had everything we needed and more, and we had a holiday that we all enjoyed.
We had spoken to a couple who had been on 8 or 9 LeBoat holidays, and they gave us great advice that made a huge impact on our experience. They recommended a bigger boat than the number of people we had to ensure enough space, especially for luggage. They suggested a river so we could swim and fish which were priorities. They also recommended that we ensure the boat has a bimini, cushions for the deck areas, and that we take the pre-paid fuel and cleaning option. We had not considered air conditioning and were VERY pleasantly surprised to have it. The remote mooring at pontoons without services were what we loved and the auxillary generator allowed us to enjoy them.
The staff at Douelle were really, really helpful and welcoming. The introduction to the boat was spot on.
The river was relatively quiet before peak season and we had such a fun trip.
Boating the canals is the best
We have been using Emerald Star for around 15-20 years. We holiday every year as they offer a fantastic range of regions to explore. The boats are comfortable & you get to see France at its best from the canals. It’s the best holiday.
Peaceful with beautiful scenery
Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. The locks could be hard work but a great way to meet other boaters and wonderful lock keepers. The scenery – Homps to Trebes via Le Someil was beautiful, peaceful and full of sunflowers, grapevines and small villages.
A nice boating experience
Cruising with Emerald Star was a great experience. The boat is very comfortable and easy to operate.

I have never had any boating experience in my life before booking with Emerald Star. If you are the same as me then do not worry as Emerald Star have you covered. They provide training on how to drive/sail the boats and are helpful all the way along. Everyone on the canal is super-friendly and all boat owners are happy to help and provide information along the way. It really is the friendliest community.
The boats are great value, very comfortable and have all the facilities you need, like multiple showers and toilets and cooking facilities.
More comfortable than many hotels, actually! If you are swithering about this, then don’t. Make your best memories and go on a boating holidays. You won’t regret it.

We went on the Shannon for the first time, a family of four. The booking was very easy and we chose our comfort level boat. The whole process was very straightforward and driving the boat was fine, parking was tricky in one or two spots but everyone we met along the way was very friendly and helpful. My two daughters really enjoyed the trip and we are going again this year.

Had a lovely time on Clipper 2. Boat was spacious, clean and very comfortable. There were three of us on board and it could have accommodated up to 6. It was a lit of fun.
Benson is a great place to pick up your boat…
Benson is a great place to pick up your boat and head off either towards Oxford or down stream towards the beautiful Marlow and Henley or as far as you like towards Windsor and on.
The boat was clean and ready to go. This was not our first trip although the Elegance18 boat was new to us.

The people at Laggan was friendly and very welcoming.Kay was outstanding and so was Carlos .The boats have everything you need .Very comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen.The lock keepers are so friendly and all the different nationalities we met which was a lot was really friendly.We took our two small dogs and they enjoyed it as well.Very enjoyable time and hopefully will be returning.I would definitely recommend Emerald star.

We cruised the Migennes to tannay route, visiting lovely towns such as Auxerre, Chantel – Censoir, Vincelles , Accolay, Vezalayetc.
We also took a taxi from Vezalay to Chablis which was so beautiful. Etienne , the harbour master in Chantal Censoir also organised a taxi to Vezalay which was well worth visiting.

Jarnac/Jarnac for 7 nights was perfect. The staff at the Jarnac location are amazing!!! Customer service abounds and they are so friendly and welcoming. The boat was in perfect condition and spotless. We ended up spending a few nights in Saintes and doing day trips to La Rochelle and Royan. The train station is an easy walk and the trains go everywhere in the region. The locks were easy and fun.

Port Cassafière was a perfect starting point for our trip. The staff there was very helpful in getting us set up. We had to wait a little bit, but they have a lovely patio, and it was very scenic in the French countryside, so it was enjoyable.

Our Emerald Star Horizon 4 houseboat was very comfortable for 4 adults sailing the Trent-Severn Waterway. Having 4 bathrooms was the best, with one in each cabin. We prepared most of our meals on the rooftop grill, conveniently located next to the rooftop dining table.

We originally booked the Horizon class, but upon closer inspection of the cabins on the website decided to switch to this boat and we were VERY grateful we did! For two couples this boat can’t be beat. The staterooms are huge. Walk around beds, tons of storage and individual AC controls. The boat was in spectacular condition. It looked like a brand new boat inside. Everything worked perfectly. We loved the BBQ on the top deck and cooked some incredible food up there. We are chefs and the kitchen had everything we needs and more. The dishes/pans/etc were great quality. The boat handled well and we easy to dock. If you want space and the feeling of a private yacht, pick this one!
